Terms and Conditions Summary

Every great road trip begins with knowing the rules of the road. Just like the old Nordic sagas, our Terms & Conditions are the scrolls that guide heroes (that’s you!) on their quest. They may not be carved in runes, but they’ll shield you from surprises and keep your adventure smooth. Cancellation Policy

Plans can change, especially in Iceland, where the weather is as unpredictable as Loki himself. Our cancellation terms are simple:

• Campervans: Cancel 48 hours or more before pickup, and there’s no fee. If you cancel within 48 hours, the booking confirmation fee is charged.
• Motorhomes (and the Thor Campster 4x4): Cancellations for this category come with a 15% fee of the total rental cost.
• No-shows: In all cases, the booking fee will be charged.

This way, you have flexibility to plan while we can still keep vehicles available and ready for other travelers.

Minimum Age & Driving License Requirements

Different vehicles call for different experience levels:

• 20 years minimum: Most campervans (compact and midsize models).
• 21 years minimum: Some 4x4 rooftop tent models (e.g., Duster, Vitara).
• 23 years minimum: Motorhomes like the Caratour or Ducato, and the Thor Campster 4x4.
• 25 years minimum: Larger motorhomes, including the Benivan, Caratour Basic, Weinsberg and Forster.

For most rentals, you must have held your license for at least 1 year. For larger motorhomes (Caratour Basic, Weinsbergs, Forster), a 2-year license is required.

Licenses must be written in the Latin alphabet (English, Spanish, French, etc.). If not, you’ll also need an International Driving Permit (IDP).

Booking & Reservation Process

Every booking begins with a 15–20% down payment, depending on the vehicle. This is completed online to confirm your reservation. The remainder is paid at vehicle collection by credit card, or for some models, also in cash (ISK, GBP, or USD).

Please note: you’re booking a vehicle category. The exact layout, brand, or configuration may vary slightly, but always within the same class.

Rental Deposit & Payments

A rental deposit is always required, regardless of which insurance plan you select. This is blocked on your credit card when you pick up the vehicle. Debit and prepaid cards cannot be used.

• Credit cards accepted: MasterCard, Visa, American Express (with some office restrictions), or EC card.
• American Express: can be used for the online booking fee, but not all rental stations accept it for the final balance or deposit.

The deposit amount varies by model, and it’s fully released once the vehicle is returned in the same condition.

Pickup & Drop-off

Travelers can collect their camper or motorhome directly from our Keflavík International Airport office, where pick-up and drop-off are complimentary. This is the easiest option if you’re arriving by international flight.

For some models, we also offer Reykjavík city pickup/return for an additional fee. Before your trip, you’ll receive an email with detailed pickup instructions, maps, and any special notes about your rental.

Fuel tank

Vehicles are normally provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned the same way. If for some reason the tank isn’t full at pickup, just return it at the same level it was given to you.

Taxes

Iceland’s 24% VAT (Value Added Tax) is always included in the rental price you see.
